"Gintama" Director Fukuda Teases Guest Appearance of Maetel from "Galaxy Express 999?"

Details of the upcoming Gintama live-action film sequel has been kept secret since its announcement in November 2017. The only confirmed cast is 48-year-old actor Jiro Sato, who was cast as Henpeita Takechi in the first film and is expected to play a different character in the second, including the main heroine Kagura as reported. 

The shooting started on February 10, then Sato reportedly joined it on March 16. Director Yuichi Fukuda, who takes the director's chair again, reported on his official Twitter yesterday that the shooting will be wrapped up within two days, with his photo along with a woman dressed like Maetel from Leiji Matsumoto's Galaxy Express 999 sci-fi fantasy series. He posted no comments on her so far. Is she a guest character of the film, or is it just a joke? The highly-anticipated live-action sequel is set to be released in Japan on August 17, 2018.
