Manga about clean-obsessed soccer genius debuted in 2014
This year's 10th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine is announcing on Thursday that Taku Sakamoto's Cleanliness Boy! Aoyama-kun (Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun) manga is getting a television anime adaptation. The issue is also revealing that the manga serialization is resuming.
Shueisha opened a countdown website on Thursday teasing a new anime project by Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine. The countdown is slated to end on February 2 at 12:00 a.m. JST (February 1 at 10:00 a.m. EST).
Sakamoto published the manga in Shueisha's Miracle Jump magazine in 2014, and then resumed the series in Weekly Young Jump in 2015. Shueisha published the manga's sixth compiled volume on October 19, and will publish the seventh volume on February 17.
The manga centers on a handsome young soccer genius named Aoyama who is a Japan representative. His play style is "cleanliness." He doesn't tackle and doesn't head the ball. If he's doing a throw-in, he'll only do it if he's wearing gloves.
