Sakura-Con Hosts Gen Urobuchi, Nitroplus Producers, Thunderbolt Fantasy Puppeteers

Madoka Magica, Psycho-Pass writer also attended Seattle convention in 2012

Seattle's Sakura-Con convention announced on Thursday that it will host writer Gen Urobuchi. Nitroplus president and executive producer Digitarou and producer Koh Kitaoka will also attend. In addition, the convention will host guests from Pili International Multimedia, Taiwan's largest puppet media production company, which handled the puppetry in Urobuchi's Thunderbolt Fantasy puppet show.

Urobuchi, who also attended Sakura-Con in 2012, is a member of the creative group Nitroplus. Under the Nitroplus label, Urobuchi has written visual novels such as Phantom of Inferno, Kikokugai: The Cyber Slayer, and Saya no Uta. He wrote the Fate/Zero novel series, a prequel to Kinoko Nasu and Type-Moon's Fate/stay night visual novel. Phantom of Inferno was adapted into the Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ television anime, and Fate/Zero was similarly adapted into a television anime. He has written anime including Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Psycho-Pass, Expelled from Paradise, and some episodes of the second season of Concrete Revolutio. His latest work is the Thunderbolt Fantasy puppet series, and he is also writing a planned 2017 Godzilla anime film by POLYGON PICTURES.

Digitarou and Kitaoka are members of the production committee for the Touken Ranbu Online game and Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru anime, as well as ufotable's separate Katsugeki! Touken Ranbu television anime.

Liang-Hsun Huang is the fifth generation head of the Huang puppetry family in Taiwan and the second generation successor of Pili International Multimedia. The company's members attending the convention also include senior puppeteer Chen-Ching Ting and instructor and lead puppeteer Yi-Tsun Hsiao.

The convention will be held at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle from April 14 to April 16.
