Manga-ka Debut Monogatari 3DS Game About Creating Manga Announced

Game slated for March 16 release

Nippon Colombia announced a new installment in its Akogare Girls Collection game series on Tuesday titled Manga-ka Debut Monogatari - Suteki na Manga o Egakō (Manga Creator Debut Story: Let's Draw a Wonderful Manga) for the Nintendo 3DS. The game is slated for March 16.

The game has both a story mode and a manga-drawing mode. In the story mode, players experience the story of a manga artist from the beginning of her career as an assistant to a manga creator, to debuting as a full-fledged manga creator of her own. Players interact with a variety of characters, from other assistants, to the manga creator herself.

In the manga-drawing mode, players are able to use a variety of tools to draw their own manga, and can change the panel layout, draw sketches, ink, apply screentone and shading, and write word balloons. Players can also choose from a variety of pre-drawn facial expressions, props, and backgrounds to fill in a panel. Players can upload finished manga onto Nintendo's Miiverse service.

Nippon Colombia released Wan Nyan Pet Shop, the previous installment of its Akogare Girls Collection series of games, in 2013.
