Kami-sama no Iu Toori's Muneyuki Kaneshiro, illustrator Hikaru Araki launched manga in 2015
This year's 18th issue of Kodansha's Young Magazine revealed on Monday that Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Hikaru Araki's Bokutachi ga Yarimashita (We Did It) manga is getting a live-action television drama adaptation in summer.
The manga centers on a group of friends who are satisfied and complacent with their everyday lives. The friends include Tobio, a passive high schooler who makes it a rule not to hope too much; Maru, a scheming boy who gossips behind people's back; Isami, a gaudy student who likes girls and recently got a girlfriend with big breasts; and their senior Paisen (slang for senpai, or upperclassman), a 20-year old man who is rich and has long graduated from high school.
Kaneshiro and Araki launched the manga in Young Magazine in 2015. Kodansha published the manga's eighth compiled book volume on March 6, and will published the ninth volume on April 6. The manga ranked #11 on this year's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! manga list for male readers.
Kaneshiro and Akeji Fujimura's Kami-sama no Iu Toori (As the Gods Will) manga received a live-action film adaptation in 2014. Kaneshiro wrote the story while Fujimura drew the artwork for the Kami-sama no Iu Toori manga's first arc in Kodansha's monthly Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine from 2011 to 2012. The second arc, titled As the Gods Will: The Second Series, launched in 2013, and ended in December.
